Manners

The importance of good manners while dining.

Restaurant Edit

Robert’s Arroyo Grande ammended to ♦♦ strictly for horrible wine service and terrible stemware.

Taco Additions 9.24.15

THE TAQUERIA LIST VALLARTAS SUPERMARKET (South Santa Maria) Just can not get enough of these locations.  This is the brand new location on Broadway South of Stowell and it is huge and beautiful and the food is AMAZING.  Eaten here several times since opening.  Just a shocking array of food and drink sure to blow away #teamgringo….

New Visits Morro Bay, Paso Robles 9.17.2015

THE FULL RESTAURANT LIST One new Central Coast restaurant, one re-modeled and re-worked, and one which has been around for a few years but I had never tried. GIANCARLOS in Morro Bay has re-opened after a short remodel as GC BISTRO.  Nearly the same atmosphere but the food seems to have been stepped up a notch….

Sidecar

The art-nouveau/absinthe/speak-easy motif is gone and in it’s place just drab grey walls and funky furniture. The wine list is very deep and well-thought-out and the food is…

Comfort Market Arroyo Grande a must-try

E-version of a nice little blurb mentioning Granada Hotel, Sidecar and Veini Vai–all in SLO, but most importantly the relatively new COMFORT MARKET in The Village in Arroyo Grande.  It is really hard to think of a better place for lunch in South County.  Everything is just fabulous.

ALEX vs. Hoppe’s

So many people I talk to still have not heard Hoppe’s Bistro in Cayucos closed last weekend.  Was it that far off SLO/5-Cities people’s dining radar? Might say something about why it closed.  It is interesting to contrast the wailing and gnashing of teeth going on all week on social media and continuing today over the closing…

5.9.PM Link Edition

Links additions complete on all restaurants (except closed*) in MAIN RESTAURANT LIST.  This will not happen for the TAQUERIA LIST because… well… none of those places will have websites and they are grouped by town and if you are a big enough taco snob you will find them.
