ARTISAN in Paso Robles is closing May 28, which doesn’t crush my heart to its core. Many rumors swirling about on this one.
I had this in gossip a few weeks ago but: Did you know the CARLTON HOTEL has re-opened a full restaurant again in the grand first floor? I didn’t think so.
BLACK CAT BISTRO TOO is open in Paso Robles.
Marston’s in SLO is becoming THE MARK in a couple weeks.
EFREN’S #5 should be opening very very soon up on Laurel in San Luis Obispo.
Opening pains at SKYVIEW are probably ancient history. Watch for serious menu development and streamlining to progress.
BELL’S in Jaime’s old Bell Street Farms is AMAZING (there’s not even a sign).
MATTEI’S TAVERN closes June 3.

While we’re on the subject, people be like DUDE HAVE YOU SEEN ALL THE RESTAURANTS OPENING IN BETTERAVIA PLAZA SANTA MARIA AND ELM STREET CENTER ARROYO GRANDE AND FOOTHILL PLAZA SLO HOW COME YOU NEVER TALK ABOUT THEM and the answer is: I don’t eat mall-food and I don’t care.
LA BODEGA is open in Pismo Beach and you should visit and let me know what you think. I went, I enjoyed myself and probably will mix in a second here real soon.
DEL’S PIZZERIA is open in Pismo Beach with a slimmed-down menu that still has all the good stuff. I love Del’s and can’t wait to try the new digs. I know there’s going to be a bit of nostalgia going away with no carpet and red lamps and worn wood and wine-bottle candles, but everything progresses.
What else? I think EMBER’s bistro lunch meeting spot is quite a ways off.
